The Position:
This position requires shift work, involving both nights, weekends, and holidays. On-the-job training will be provided with opportunities for certification and continuing education.
- Perform a variety of duties in the enforcement of federal, state and local laws and ordinances
- Enforce traffic laws and ordinances, issue warnings and citations, make arrest when appropriate
- Understand, interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures
- Investigate felony and misdemeanor crimes, conduct interviews
- Serve warrants, process crime scenes, gather and preserve evidence
- Respond to public service calls and complaints
- Perform clerical tasks such as report writing, record keeping and data entry
- Handle confidential information with high integrity
- Ability to handle high-stress, fast-paced situations
Must be 21 years of age High school diploma or G.E.D. Valid Kansas Driver’s License Pass POST Test with a 70% or higher Pass Psychological Exam Background Check Pass Drug Test and Job Placement Assessment
Must be able to obtain KS-CPOST Law Enforcement Certification
No felony or Domestic Violence Convictions, Drug or Alcohol related convictions or Diversions No residency requirement, but a 30-minute response time for emergency situations is required.
