JOB PURPOSE:The Senior HR Generalist leads the consistent execution and administration of core human resources operations for Nuvative and its affiliated companies. This role blends hands‑on HR administration with day‑to‑day employee support to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of employee relations, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting, and policy administration. The ideal candidate is a self‑directed HR professional with strong documentation and problem‑solving skills who can independently manage employee lifecycle processes, support managers with performance and disciplinary matters, and ensure all HR practices align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
Responsibilities- Serve as a point of contact for managers and employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on performance documentation, coaching conversations, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist with employee investigations and document findings.
- Support progressive discipline processes and ensure proper documentation.
- Track and maintain employee relations case records.
- Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Maintain employee personnel files and ensure compliance with record‑keeping requirements.
- Ensure proper employee classification (exempt/non‑exempt).
- Monitor completion of required compliance training.
- Update and distribute policy changes as needed.
- Maintain I‑9 records and ensure proper documentation.
- Support full‑cycle recruiting, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and preparing offer letters.
- Conduct background checks and pre‑employment screenings.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation.
- Ensure completion of onboarding paperwork and compliance documentation.
- Track recruiting metrics such as time‑to‑fill and new hire turnover.
- Partner with payroll to process employee changes including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and bonuses.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy before processing.
- Administer employee benefits including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Support open enrollment communication and coordination.
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits and payroll.
- Coordinate annual performance review process and track completion.
- Process employee status changes including promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Conduct exit interviews and maintain turnover records.
- Maintain accurate HRIS data and generate standard reports as requested.
- 5+ years of HR generalist experience.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and Kansas employment laws.
- Experience administering FMLA, ADA, and workers’ compensation.
- Familiarity with payroll processes and HRIS systems.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred but not required.
