JOB PURPOSE:
This role plays a key part in delivering a high-quality, secure, and scalable web experience for Nuvative and its affiliated companies. The Word Press Front-End Developer owns the front-end architecture, site optimization, and execution of web initiatives that support business growth. Working within the Marketing department, they ensure our digital platforms meet both creative and technical performance standards.
- Own all aspects of website management, updates, and front-end development
- Manage, build, and make changes to website using reusable Tailwind patterns, components, and documentation for long-term scalability
- Lead the transition of the existing Word Press website into a Tailwind based front-end environment, including converting hard coded and legacy elements into Tailwind components, and managing a remote part-time contractor to support this project, ensuring code quality, consistency, and timely progress
- Convert Figma designs into responsive, polished, fully functional webpages
- Update or maintain existing pages (pre-Tailwind transition) using Elementor, Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields, custom PHP templates, or custom code
- Ensure the website is optimized for speed, accessibility, UX, and mobile performance
- Create high quality interactive user experiences, including animations and micro-interactions
- Oversee hosting-level tasks, including coordinating with Kinsta, monitoring site health, managing caching systems, and resolving outages or conflicts quickly
- Partner with IT on security and infrastructure issues and initiate contact with Kinsta or other providers when needed
- Monitor the site through a technical lens—checking logs, uptime, vulnerabilities, redirects, and broken links
- Use tools like Screaming Frog to identify issues and opportunities; will sometimes partner with SEO Content Specialist to provide list of pages that could use optimizations or changes
- Implement and maintain technical SEO best practices, including metadata, schema, site speed improvements, internal linking structure, and crawlability
- Ensure all pages follow SEO guidelines and best practices in both structure and content formatting
- Support Marketing with blog publishing, layout improvements, and content optimization
- Clearly communicate technical concepts and issues in both technical language (with IT) and simple, non-technical language (with other departments)
- Work flexibly across agile and non-agile workflows, collaborating with IT’s sprint cycles when needed while supporting Marketing’s priority-driven work
- Provide technical input on projects that require IT coordination or cross-departmental support
- 3–5+ years of front-end development experience focused on Word Press
- Proficiency with:
- Elementor
- Gutenberg / Block Editor
- Advanced Custom Fields
- Tailwind CSS
- Custom PHP
- HTML, CSS, Java Script
- Experience converting designs into pixel-perfect pages from Figma
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across hosting, caching, CDN, and Word Press environments
- Experience with animations, interactive UI elements, and refined UX interactions
- Experience publishing blogs and updating content within Word Press
- Familiarity with Cloudflare (in partnership with IT)
- Experience with Click Up or similar project management tools
- Understanding of Word Press security best practices
- Vendor, contractor, or leader management experience preferred
- Strong understanding of responsive design, performance optimization, and mobile-first development.
