The IT Director is a critical technology and security leader responsible for the strategy, design, and hands‑on management of the organization’s IT operations, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity posture, and managed IT services. This role requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, SIEM platforms, and security compliance frameworks including HITRUST and SOC 2. The IT Director will ensure secure, scalable operations while driving innovation and operational excellence across the technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the organization’s IT strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead IT infrastructure, cloud services, network operations, and systems administration.
  • Drive continuous improvement across uptime, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee and directly contribute to the architecture, deployment, and management of Azure workloads—including compute, networking, identity, automation, and security.
  • Implement Azure governance practices including RBAC, policy enforcement, landing zones, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery within Azure.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of SIEM platforms (e.g., Sentinel, Splunk).
  • Establish and maintain threat detection, incident response, and log management capabilities.
  • Monitor security events, perform root‑cause analysis, and coordinate remediation.
  • Own and maintain the organization’s security and compliance programs.
  • Implement and enforce controls aligned to HITRUST CSF and SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria.
  • Prepare and lead audits, assessments, evidence collection, gap analyses, and remediation activities.
  • Ensure continuous compliance and reduce risk through policy, process, and technical control enhancements.
  • Define cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Oversee vendor security reviews and third‑party risk management.
  • Implement vulnerability management programs, penetration testing cycles, and risk assessments.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing IT and security team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, security‑first mindset, and operational excellence.
  • Manage IT and security projects from inception through delivery.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud, security, and technology vendors.
  • Ensure project delivery within scope, budget, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day MSP operations, including service desk, NOC, cloud services, and field engineering.
  • Ensure SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Develop and optimize service delivery processes, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Lead capacity planning, resource management, and workload balancing across clients.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Hands‑on engineering expertise with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, identity, networking).
  • Experience architecting, deploying, and tuning SIEM platforms, preferably Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Direct experience preparing for and maintaining HITRUST and/or SOC 2 certifications.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
  • Proven experience leading IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, SC‑100, SC‑200, etc.).
  • HITRUST Practitioner (CHP / CCSFP) or SOC 2 audit experience.
  • Experience with identity security (Entra ), Zero Trust, and modern endpoint management (Intune).
  • Background in healthcare, fintech, SaaS, or other regulated industries.
