Job Description
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Sr. I.T. Network Engineer to join our team in Mobile, AL. This role supports, maintains, and improves the data networks (WAN, LAN, Industrial & Wireless, Network Security & Cabling) for Airbus in Mobile, Alabama.

Your Working EnvironmentThe Engineering Center at Mobile Aeroplex houses hundreds of Airbus engineers working on commercial aircraft cabins and aftermarket upgrades. Opened in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. We are preparing to open a third assembly line in Mobile.

Ensure network availability, performance, and security. Support, plan, and optimize LAN, wireless, cabling, and network infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities- Manage incidents, problems, or requests requiring L3 support.
- Provide architectural & technical consulting to systems analysts, IT engineers, and architects.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Required: 5+ years of relevant networking experience in an industrial environment.
- Preferred: Experience with BGP/OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, VLAN, STP, edge network security, Dot1x/NAC, F5 Loadbalancer + iRule, proxy technologies, physical network deployment (optical and copper cabling, structured cabling, power and electricity), and scripting.
- Required: Cisco CCIE or equivalent networking certification.
- Preferred: Vendor certifications (Arista, Aruba, Palo Alto, F5, etc.), ITIL Foundation, Agile Framework.
- 10% domestic and international travel.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Any security clearance is welcomed.

- Preferred:
French or German language skills.
- Expert in LAN, WAN, WiFi, and network security products (proxies, firewall, IDS, IPS).
Reports to the Leader of Network Operations North America. Responsible for the stability and integrity of in‑house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. Plans, designs, and develops local area networks and network security. Participates in installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, optimization, and provides end‑user training.
Nature of Contacts- Report, influence, and support Management Team weekly.
- Ensure operations with contractors and vendors daily.
- 80% onsite required in Mobile, Alabama.
- Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting (up to 50lbs), pushing/pulling small furniture, sitting long periods, standing, walking, personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
