Position OverviewThe Branch Manager is responsible for leading all operations at our Wichita retail location. This role functions as a hands-on Store Manager , accountable for sales performance, customer relationships, inventory, safety, staff leadership, and overall branch profitability.
During the first phase of the role, the Branch Manager will focus heavily on internal sales, customer service, and day-to-day operations while learning MAC Pavement Maintenance Products systems and processes. Over time, the position will expand to include outside sales, customer development, and business growth within the local market.
For the first six months, the successful candidate must be willing to spend significant time in Kansas City for training and onboarding.
Key ResponsibilitiesBranch Operations & Leadership
- Lead all daily operations of the retail branch, including sales, inventory, safety, and training
- Establish and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient store, yard, and warehouse environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
- Manage opening and closing procedures and oversee daily reporting
- Monitor branch performance and take action to improve efficiency and profitability
- Drive internal (in-store and phone) sales and support customers with product selection and solutions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, including contractors and municipalities
- Gradually expand into outside sales, customer outreach, and business development as the branch matures
- Resolve customer issues professionally and ensure a high level of service and follow-through
- Represent MAC Pavement Maintenance Products professionally in the local market
Team Management & Development
- Train, schedule, and supervise branch staff
- Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to ensure team success
- Foster a culture of safety, reliability, and teamwork
- Oversee inventory levels, ordering, and stock organization
- Ensure rental equipment is maintained, inspected, and ready for use
- Coordinate loading, unloading, and material handling operations
- Support forklift and yard operations as needed
- Willingness to spend significant time in Kansas City during the first six months for training, shadowing, and onboarding
- Ability to apply learned systems and processes independently once training is complete
- Valid driver’s license with a clean or insurable driving record
- Experience in retail management, branch management, construction supply, or related industry
- Strong sales aptitude with the ability to manage both internal and outside sales efforts
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- General mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn
- Basic computer and POS system proficiency
- Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Ability to work 40–50 hours per week, including weekends
