Production Manager, Operations Engineer

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
- Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
- Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
- Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
- Monitors Resource Utilization for overload issues and works with supporting personnel to resolve through rescheduling, overtime, offload or other means.
- Schedules deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities, and maintenance requirements of equipment.
- Confers with purchasing, engineering, planning, and other personnel to exchange information regarding inventories, schedules, and related issues.
- Facilitates the monthly SIOP process providing Senior Staff with analytical data and supporting “what-if” scenarios to assist in long range resolution of capacity imbalances.
- Reviews long range load utilization for imbalances and works with Contract Administration to resolve.
- Coordinates priorities across customer lines in conjunction with Program Manager and Contract Administrator.
- Issues and maintains work orders to various departments in support of customer requirements.
- Reconciles Syteline APS & Scheduling system to ensure accuracy on production flow.
- Performs work order maintenance to including Splits, Quantity Changes, etc.
- Prepares and develops customer will ship dates for Program Manager.
- Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
Basic data entry into manufacturing software system;
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Skills:
Ability to read and write the English language; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Other Skills, Abilities, and/or
Qualifications:
Understanding of the Theory of Constraints; working knowledge with Advance Planning and Scheduling systems.
