The Assembly Associate is responsible for completing assembly processes according to specified blueprints and process specifications, working primarily with sheet metal parts. This role requires attention to detail and precision in a production environment.
Responsibilities- Verify tooling is correct before use.
- Load details into tools and drill bars for drilling processes.
- Load details into jigs for precise drilling.
- Remove and inspect drilled spar assemblies.
- Ream close tolerance holes and inspect them.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for sealing techniques.
- Apply appropriate sealants and assemble components.
- Install fasteners and remove excess sealant from assemblies.
- Call for final inspection and ensure quality standards are met.
- Complete paperwork per work order instructions for each process.
- Seek guidance as necessary and keep supervisors informed of progress.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with riveting and sheet metal assembly.
- Knowledge of sealing techniques and applicable measurement instruments.
- Proficiency in using power tools and performing mechanical assembly.
- Problem‑solving skills for evaluating assembly components.
Skills & Qualifications
- 1‑year experience in riveting and assembly preferred.
- Manufacturing experience, especially in aviation, is preferred.
- Ability to work with thin skins and perform precise drilling.
- Experience in reading shop aids and graphic work instructions (GWIs).
- Familiarity with drilling, countersinks, and installing hi‑locks.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a production and assembly setting within an air‑conditioned and heated plant. Safety is a priority, with safety goggles, protective gloves, and hearing protection required. Employees are expected to maintain a well‑groomed appearance suitable for the work environment, which involves standing, bending, and using vibrating tools for extended periods.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr.
