Job Title:
Saw Operator
The Saw Operator will work in a non-climate controlled environment, cutting aviation and marine-grade metals to order specifications using band saws and metal saws. The role involves material handling and forklift operation, requiring precision and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Expertly operate one or more saws in the service center.
- Process orders according to customer specifications and ensure timely completion.
- Pull and stage material for processing at saws.
- Retrieve material from plate racks using a fork truck.
- Measure material to exact requirements and enter data into the computer.
- Operate cranes, fork trucks, and apply safe rigging techniques.
- Assist in packaging, receiving shipments, and conducting inventory cycle counts.
- Use tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the immediate work area.
- Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of experience in saw operation, preferably in aviation or a similar field.
- One year of manufacturing/warehouse material handling and forklift experience.
- Two years of related experience or training with saws and machinery.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Ability to measure using various tools and calculate data.
- Ability to work independently and accept direction.
- High integrity and positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience in the metals service center industry.
- Ability to operate Metlsaw and similar machinery.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39,520.00 - $43,680.00/yr.
Workplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Wichita, KS.
