  • Perform expert level break‑fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices, dismantling, examining parts, adjusting functional parts, repairing/replacing parts, testing performance, and performing electrical and mechanical system tests and reconditioning machine tools.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies and repair items as necessary and evaluate alternatives to improve cost and/or reliability.
  • Perform maintenance independently in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Setup and operate multiple machining operations such as lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts; may perform welding tasks.
  • Conform and comply with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
  • Document work performed in service reports, management systems, and written explanations regarding observation and equipment performance data.
  • Provide assistance to lower level technicians and leadership to project teams; perform expert functions as part of training and development.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve in‑depth software/hardware/configuration problems.
  • Utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, observe trends, and make recommendations.
  • Complete and conduct on‑the‑job training and technical self‑study programs for career development.
  • Follow all safety‑related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines; maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
Qualifications (KSAs)
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate’s degree with a technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or 12 years of experience in specific industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power and control systems; ability to analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Extensive travel required (local, national); applicant may live anywhere within the Continental U.S.
  • Experience in condition‑based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.
  • Personal discipline.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or descend heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.

The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment, usually very loud, and may involve hazardous materials and greasy or slippery factory floors.
