Overview
This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
ResponsibilitiesThe Boeing Company’s Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Team is seeking a skilled professional with expertise in human factors to develop, implement, and monitor occupational health and safety programs focused on ergonomic and human-centered workplace design. The ideal candidate will evaluate workplace conditions, provide training, and ensure compliance with emerging regulations to enhance employee well‑being, safety, and operational efficiency.
Position Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and continuously monitor occupational health and safety programs with a focus on ergonomics and human factors principles.
- Perform ergonomic assessments in the workplace to identify risk factors and propose effective mitigations and solutions tailored to employee needs and manufacturing requirements.
- Plan and conduct health and safety audits, emphasizing ergonomic risk assessments, human factors analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate ergonomic and human factors principles into workplace design, processes, and equipment to optimize safety, comfort, and performance.
- Degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Occupational Health, Safety, or related field.
- Proven experience in developing and managing occupational health and safety programs, specifically ergonomics and human factors.
- Strong knowledge of ergonomic and human factors standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent training and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable corrective plans.
- Experience conducting audits and inspections in a workplace setting.
- Certification in ergonomics, human factors, or occupational health and safety (e.g., CPE, CSP).
- Familiarity with emerging ergonomic and human factors technologies and tools.
- Strong problem‑solving and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience working with union partnerships.
- Ability to walk/stand frequently per shift
- Ability to climb limited per shift
- Ability to sit frequently per shift
Ability to lift/carry and push/pull up to 35 lbs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range – Mid‑Level (Level
3): $90,100 – $138,100.
