Fabrication Shop Manager

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in our glass and aluminum fabrication facility. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, industry knowledge, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is critical to ensuring our shop delivers high-quality products on time while maintaining smooth coordination with project managers, installers, and suppliers.

• Supervise and lead fabrication shop staff, providing training, direction, and performance management.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee daily fabrication activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Review shop drawings, work orders, and specifications to verify accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and calibration of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels of glass, aluminum, hardware, and consumables; coordinate with purchasing for material orders.
• Implement and enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance within the shop.
• Maintain quality control processes, ensuring all fabricated materials meet company and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and installers to meet deadlines and resolve fabrication challenges.
• Develop and implement shop policies, procedures, and workflow improvements to maximize efficiency.
• Track shop productivity, costs, and material usage to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Troubleshoot technical fabrication issues and provide solutions for complex projects.
• Foster a positive team environment built on accountability, communication, and respect.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in the glazing industry, or as a shop manager or foreman.
• Extensive knowledge of storefront and curtain wall systems.
• CNC experience preferred (not required).
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage teams and meet deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
