We are hiring four experienced Production Manufacturing Engineers to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Wichita, Kansas
.

This is a fully on-site contract position focused on developing, optimizing, and executing manufacturing build plans for aircraft structures and assemblies. Candidates with prior experience supporting Spirit Aero Systems, Boeing, or similar aerospace manufacturing environments are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Manufacturing Build Plans, process routings, and work instructions.
  • Create and validate MBOMs, process sequences, and assembly flows.
  • Translate engineering designs into efficient, production-ready manufacturing plans.
  • Support first-build validation, process proving, and production readiness activities.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to aircraft assembly lines.
  • Resolve manufacturing discrepancies, non-conformances, tooling issues, and production constraints.
  • Incorporate shop‑floor feedback into manufacturing plans and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Tooling, and Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, or DFM/DFA, recommendations.
  • Ensure alignment between EBOM, MBOM, and shop‑floor execution.
  • Support FAI, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Hands‑on experience developing manufacturing build plans and process plans.
  • Experience providing assembly‑line and shop‑floor production support.
  • Experience supporting aircraft structures such as fuselage, wing, nacelle, or similar assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and AS9100 standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
  • Experience working with:
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems, or MES
  • SAP MBOMs and routings
  • CATIA V5
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting Spirit Aero Systems or Boeing programs, including 737, 777, or 787.
  • Experience creating MBOMs, routings, Manufacturing Work Instructions, or Standard Work Instructions.
  • Experience with metallic or composite aircraft structures.
  • Familiarity with tooling design, process validation, industrialization, and production readiness.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced aerospace assembly environment.
