CNC Machinist

Job Details

Location:

Wichita, KS. Salary: $16.00–$20.00 per hour.

• Setup and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis Haas CNC machines.
• Check first parts using precision measuring and hand tools.
• Configure mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
• Calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Prove part programs, load machines with work pieces, verify settings by measuring positions, first‑run parts, and sample work pieces.
• Maintain specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, editing programs, sharpening and replacing worn tools.
• Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Accomplish organization goals by taking ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
• Meet production goals in terms of cycle time, quantity, and quality.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

• Minimum of two years experience in an aerospace/aircraft machine shop setting.
• Experience with multi‑axis CNC machines.
Machines a Must Experience With Haas Machines/controls Preferred

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with safety standards and PPE used in a manufacturing setting.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading.
• Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and a good eye for detail.
