Position: Blending (Cut Table) Technician (Wichita)

Job/Position Summary

The Blending Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently producing blended food products according to production schedules, batch instructions, customer requirements, and food safety standards. This role supports daily blending operations, material staging, equipment sanitation, product quality, documentation accuracy, and inventory control.

This position plays an important role in maintaining production flow, preventing allergen cross-contact, supporting sanitation requirements, and ensuring products are blended correctly the first time.

Education and Experience

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent manufacturing or food production experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing, food production, or blending experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience with inventory tracking systems such as SAP, AS400, Tamlin, or similar systems preferred.
  • Prior sanitation or food manufacturing experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities and Duties

1. Production & Blending Operations

  • Review daily production schedule and assigned blending work.
  • Read and follow written blending instructions, formulas, and batch records.
  • Accurately weigh, stage, verify, and add raw materials according to batch requirements.
  • Operate blending equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor product appearance, consistency, and blending performance during production.
  • Complete assigned jobs in a timely manner while supporting production goals.

2. Food Safety & Quality Compliance

  • Follow GMP, HACCP, allergen control, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
  • Verify lot codes, product identity, and raw material usage before and during production.
  • Prevent cross-contact by following proper cleanout, changeover, and line clearance procedures.
  • Notify supervision or QA of non-conforming materials, equipment issues, or quality concerns.

3. Equipment, Sanitation & Changeover Support

  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble blending equipment as required.
  • Support washouts and sanitation activities between products or allergens.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas during and after production.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor mechanical adjustments.
  • Complete production paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Record material usage, lot information, and production data as required.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper scanning, material handling, and communication.
  • Report shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies to supervision.
Skills and competencies
  • Ability to lift 50 lb bags and boxes.
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Ability to read and follow written blending instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude, including ability to take equipment apart and put it back together.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work in food production environments with dust, noise, temperature changes, and allergens.
  • Ability to bend, climb, reach, and work around production equipment.
Position Accountability
  • Produce batches according to schedule, formula, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate batch documentation and material usage records.
  • Follow all GMP, sanitation, allergen, and safety requirements.
  • Communicate production, equipment, or quality concerns in a timely manner.
