The Die Cast/ Equipment Technician Trainee is part of the Maintenance team. This role will work alongside an experienced Die Cast/Equipment Technician to learn how to repair and maintain all equipment in the Assembly, Heavy Duty or Controls tooling area. Will learn how to assist cell leaders when set-ups or problems occur. In addition to assigned job functions, must follow department policies & procedures and all Company safety procedures and practices.
EssentialFunctions
- Training on how to maintain die cast machines and other department equipment
- Learns how to assist cell leaders with set-ups and retrieving parts
- Performs duties in the safest and most efficient manner possible
- Responsible for the safe operation of company equipment
- Works respectfully with other team members
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned
- General familiarity with department equipment
- Ability to read and follow instructions & guidelines in documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Able to follow direction given by senior employees in training process
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to problem solve
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience working with manufacturing machinery
- Must be at least 18 years of age

SpecialPosition Requirements
- Working near moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles can be expected frequently
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and adverse weather can be expected occasionally
- Manual labor job in a manufacturing environment
- Temperature fluctuations on production floor
- Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects up to 100 pounds
- Standing for long periods of time; climbing, walking
- Hand dexterity
- Ability to operate departmental equipment
