Technician, Operator IV

Job Description

Controls or operates machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery.

• Safe and efficient operation of plant equipment in area of training.
• Compliance with all Evonik, state and federal regulations at all times.
• Develop understanding of plant procedures, processes, and equipment in area of training.
• Develop ability to identify issues with process equipment and process parameters in area of training.
• Maintain accurate training documentation with instructor as new processes and procedures are learned.
• Resolve issues with processes and equipment with support from more senior operation technicians.
• Support maintenance department as needed to repair equipment and ensure reliable operation of plant assets.
• Communicate process and controls issues with area engineers and assist with data acquisition.
• Assist technicians that are more senior and develop hands‑on knowledge of operating procedures and equipment.
• Support basic safety process including maintaining compliance with any required training.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Good time management skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Safety oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, from day and night.
