Waterjet Operator
The Waterjet Operator sets up and runs waterjet cutting equipment to produce parts to precise specifications. This role involves loading material, programming and operating the machine to defined tolerances, and interpreting blueprints to ensure accurate and efficient production.
Responsibilities- Load raw material onto the waterjet machine safely and efficiently.
- Set up and program the waterjet machine according to specified tolerances and dimensions.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
- Make standard computations related to dimensions of work pieces and tooling requirements.
- Verify that parts meet quality and dimensional specifications throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules.
- At least 1 year of hands-on waterjet operating experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to set up and program waterjet machinery to specified tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and computations.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform standard dimensional and tooling calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues.
- Reliability and punctuality in a production environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with approximately 15 employees, providing a focused and collaborative atmosphere. Work is performed on waterjet machinery and related equipment during a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with minimal weekend work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
