This role is at Spirit Aero Systems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units(“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions

The Workplace Training Coaches will provides technical training, coaching, and instruction composite training and instruction for shop floor employees. Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom and hands-on training focused on composite layup, repair, and manufacturing processes.
  • Coach and mentor employees on proper composite fabrication techniques, quality requirements, standard work, and best practices.
  • Evaluate employee performance and proficiency, providing timely coaching and feedback.
  • Assess training effectiveness and recommend improvements to training materials and delivery methods.
  • Identify remedial training needs and develop action plans to improve employee performance.
  • Collaborate with production leadership, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure training aligns with operational requirements.
  • Maintain employee training records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve training processes and employee performance.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment and reinforce compliance with company policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in composite layup within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing composite repairs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality standards.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or similar training management system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Positive attitude with a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Must be willing and able to work any assigned shift and accept shift assignment changes as needed to support business and operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with composite repair certification or advanced composite repair techniques.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Experience with aerospace composite manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles.
  • Previous experience developing or delivering technical training in a manufacturing environment.
