Leading Technology Composites, Inc., a Wichita-based leader in advanced composite armor and structural solutions, is hiring an Aero Paint specialist for our manufacturing team. In this role, you will prepare, mask, and spray aerospace-grade coatings on ballistic panels, vehicle and aircraft armor, and custom composite parts. You'll interpret work instructions, operate paint booths and spray systems, and verify coating quality to strict standards.
Working in a safety-first, quality-driven environment, you'll collaborate closely with skilled technicians while building advanced finishing and composite manufacturing skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, mix, and apply primers, sealers, and aerospace-grade paints to composite armor and structural components per work orders and specifications
- Set up, operate, and maintain spray guns, paint booths, ovens, and related finishing equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect surfaces, perform sanding, masking, touch-up, and rework to meet strict quality and aesthetic standards
- Measure film thickness, color match, and finish quality using appropriate tools and documentation
- Follow detailed job travelers, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure accurate finishes and traceability
- Complete production and quality records, including lot tracking and material usage logs
- Communicate with supervisors, quality inspectors, and fabrication teams to resolve paint and finish issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant finishing area, including proper handling of chemicals and PPE
Required Skills
