The IRC provides a range of economic empowerment programs and employment services to its clients. The Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for building job development to create clients’ employment opportunities and sustain employer engagement, and maintaining and enhancing early employment training, extended supports and services for clients to attain self-sufficiency. The Coordinator sees Economic Empowerment programs supporting clients to build fundamental workforce knowledge and vocational training, cultivate various job opportunities and pursue career pathways that lead to higher wage jobs and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Compliance Documentation
  • Track enrolled clients utilizing the ETO and Client Track systems to ensure all job development services are provided in a timely manner and properly documented.
  • Ensure all programs fulfill funder and agency requirements for documentation, case files, data tracking and other areas of administrative compliance.
  • Coordinate quality assurance efforts in partnership with the supervisor and employment specialists.
  • Monitor progress towards programmatic performance requirements and encourage the employment team towards these goals.
  • Produce high-quality program reports in a timely manner. This includes completing or overseeing staff completion of various reports to IRC headquarters and funders.
  • Assist in grant writing activities, as the opportunities arise.
Client Services
  • Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities and build new employer relationships.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with area employers to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
  • Educate employers on the merits of refugee employment and relevant right-to-work documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between the IRC, employers, clients, and community partners.
  • Research and attend relevant job development events such as job fairs, community events, job site tours, etc.
  • Determine specific, appropriate employment opportunities, and assist clients in accessing these opportunities by guiding them through the hiring process.
  • Monitor job performance, wage level, and employer/employee satisfaction.
  • Assist clients and employers with any post-placement issues and continuing employment needs.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual job placement goals.
  • Ensure that client voice and experience is driving program design and direction, clients are actively engaged to provide feedback, and that feedback results in adaptations.
  • Maintain close communication with employment staff regarding challenging cases and carry out timely, professional interventions to ensure appropriate service delivery.
  • Develop and cultivate long term relationships with employers and community partners in order to identify appropriate vocational training and resources for clients.
  • Use personal vehicle as a mode of transport for both self and clients to various job responsibilities in and around the service delivery area.
Team/Office Participation
  • Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and other duties as assigned.
  • Work as part of a team to provide comprehensive strength-based services to IRC clients through coordination of cases and effective communication between team members and departments.
