Job Title:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Pain Clinic
Job Overview: An APRN is a healthcare professional with advanced education, clinical training, and expertise in a specialized area of nursing. They are licensed to provide a wide range of healthcare services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care for individuals and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments to gather information about patients' medical histories, symptoms, and current health status.
- Perform physical examinations to identify health issues and formulate appropriate care plans.
- Utilize advanced clinical knowledge to diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Prescribe medications, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to guide treatment decisions.
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, considering physical, emotional, and psychosocial factors.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures, lifestyle modifications, and disease management.
- Promote health and wellness through community outreach and educational programs.
- Specialize in one of the four recognized APRN roles:
Nurse Practitioner (NP), Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). - Each role has specific responsibilities, such as primary care provision, women's health, mental health, or anesthesia administration.
- Stay updated on the latest research and evidence in the field, integrating evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making.
- Contribute to research activities and participate in the development of healthcare policies and guidelines.
- Adhere to state regulations and licensing requirements governing APRN practice.
- Maintain certifications and participate in continuing education to stay current in the field.
- Uphold the core values of the Kansas Spine and Specialty Hospital
- Conduct interactions with staff and patients in a kind, courteous, professional manner.
- Adhere to a model of accountability and be receptive to feedback as a mechanism of growth.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing with specialization in the chosen APRN role.
- Current and valid state nursing license.
- National certification in the specific APRN role.
- Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
