Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Summary: Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Serves as the hospital representative during legal proceedings as delegated, and provides documents, attends interviews, depositions and court appearances. Participates in loss prevention as related to the hospital Risk Management Plan. Continually strives to improve processes and services.
Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
Serves as a resource person for questions or problems of a legal nature;
Provides educational and emotional support for employees involved in litigation;
Represents the medical center in pre-trial and court proceedings as delegated by the Risk Manager.Develops and maintains effective communication with hospital staff, residents, and physicians regarding quality improvement and risk management;
Participates in the education of hospital staff, physicians and resident staff related to patient safety and risk management.Actively participates collaborates in the disclosure proves for unanticipated events, use of apology, alternate dispute resolution mechanisms, early payment strategy, and lesson learned prevention activities.
Monitors compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations, JC requirements, and State of Kansas requirements as related to the Risk Management Plan.
