The Robert J. Dole VAMC is seeking to fill an Registered Nurse - Nurse Manager Medical Surgical position. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

* Demonstrating fundamental knowledge of the unit and accountability for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.

* Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of care based on age-specific components.

* Assumimg responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.

* Influencing care outcomes by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and participating in process improvement initiatives.

* Serving as the first-line supervisory authority responsible and accountable for the operation of assigned units and provides coverage for other Nurse Managers (NMs) as needed.

* Accountability for the direction and supervision of orientation, training, staff development, and evaluation of individual staff performance.

* Serving as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor, providing leadership to the team.

* Enhancing care outcomes by collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to remove barriers and implementing new evidence-based programs/processes.

* Adhering to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational, and staff levels.

* Aligning nursing/clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes, participating in strategy planning and execution.

* Maintaining knowledge and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
