• One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications or licenses may be required

• Communicate procedures to patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during labor and delivery
• Provide postpartum care and assessment of mother and newborn
• Educate on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetric, anesthesiology, neonatology, and other team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other procedures
• Comply with regulatory standards, hospital policies, state and federal guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
• Proficiency in English reading and writing
• Ability to read and follow instructions, proficiency in PC skills
• Physical: remain stationary, move equipment 50‑100 lbs, push/pull, bend
• Interpersonal: work effectively with diverse personnel, positive attitude
• Technical/Motor: fine manipulation, push/pull, assist during procedures
• Mental: cope with general public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without assistance, handle irregular schedules, concentrate to detail
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
