The focus of this position is CUSTOMER SERVICE. The nurse must have great communication skills, know available resources and how to access them. The role includes problem solving daily, interacting with multiple departments, being self‑motivated, flexible, and maintaining a calm empathetic manner with patients and staff. The nurse should be able to communicate with physicians regarding patient and family issues and function in the Surgery/Perioperative area to facilitate patient flow.

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree Nursing, Diploma, or BSN. Knowledge of AORN Standards/Recommended Practices. Knowledge of PNDS (Perioperative Nursing Data Sets) a plus.

Licensure/

Certifications:

Must hold a current RN license from the Kansas Board of Nursing or an active compact license. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification. CNOR and/or specialty certification preferred.

Experience: Prior surgery experience. Experience in circulating and scrubbing.
