We are looking for a Registered Nurse for our Woodlawn Emergency Room. This role offers a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for RN’s with 1+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

Responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, coordinating all nursing care for the department‑specific patient population in accordance with standards of nursing care and practice.

  • Deliver patient‑centered nursing care in accordance with standards of care defined by Wesley Medical Center.
  • Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality‑of‑care activities and initiating and sustaining process improvements.
  • Maintain current knowledge in nursing practice and education.
  • Monitor patients’ progress toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Contribute to the professional development of peers, colleagues and others.
  • Collaborate with patients, significant others and health‑care providers to provide and advocate for patient care.
  • Consider safety and cost effectiveness when delivering patient care.
  • Make decisions and actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner.
  • Participate in the improvement of operational functions of the department.
  • Establish and maintain effective and respectful communication in developing all collaborative relationships.
  • Evaluate and participate in opportunities for outstanding service to all customers and accept responsibility in respectful partnership.
  • Apply knowledge of age‑appropriate competencies to department‑specific population.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to identify, interpret and access appropriate resources in patient‑specific scenarios.
  • Secure, administer and handle medication according to established guidelines.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Registered Nurse diploma or equivalent.
