Nursing: Registered Nurse; Rn - Progressive Care Unit; Pcu - Travel

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas.

• Provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units, monitoring and specialized nursing interventions.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations.
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of patients’ cardiac status and response to interventions.
• Respond to life‑saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies.
• Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
• Initiate patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
• MUST cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
• MUST possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate.
