Job SummaryEvery patient deserves attentive, timely, and well‑coordinated care. As the RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput, you will play a key role in ensuring patients move through the Emergency Department with clarity, clinical support, and thoughtful coordination. By aligning staffing, patient placement, and clinical resources, you’ll help teams deliver care that is organized, safe, and patient‑centered. In moments of urgency and complexity, your leadership will keep caregivers connected, supported, and focused on their mission to care for and improve human life.
Responsibilities- Communicate flow status daily with all ED staff.
- Use the process flow map at all times for consistency from shift to shift.
- Ensure Direct Bedding is happening daily.
- Ensure patients are on deck for triage and subwaiting.
- Lead rounds with providers and document issues for ED leadership each day.
- Facilitate discharges and delegate tasks such as medication administration and team triage.
- Coordinate resources for code responses (Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI).
- Implement the Surge Plan and evaluate real‑time metrics (disposition to leave, low acuity LOS, inpatient bed assignments, etc.).
- Evaluate TrackER, BMAC, and the Meditech Bed Board Relief Coordinator when assigned.
- Assist with improvement of operational functions of the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification within six months of employment start.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 90 days of employment start.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification within six months of employment start.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with a Registered Nurse Diploma, no travel required.
- At least one year of experience in an emergency department or related setting.
