Position: Registered Nurse (Surgical Services)

Registered Nurse (Surgical Services)

A well‑established regional healthcare organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Surgical Services team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative perioperative environment focused on patient safety, clinical excellence, and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will provide nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures while partnering with physicians, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preoperative patient assessments and nursing evaluations.
  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including medication administration and IV initiation as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding surgical procedures and recovery expectations.
  • Support compliance with patient safety protocols and perioperative standards.
  • Monitor patient status and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to coordinate care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals.
  • Provide compassionate, patient‑focused care throughout the surgical experience.
Qualifications Required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within the required onboarding period.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
  • Previous experience in perioperative, surgical, acute care, or hospital nursing environments.
  • Knowledge of surgical nursing practices and patient safety standards.
