Job Title
Psychiatric Licensed Practical Nurse – COMCARE
LocationWichita, KS, US
Compensation & Schedule- Pay: $21.76 per hour.
- Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week).
Under the direction of an RN supervisor, you will provide direct and indirect services to patients, manage medication refills and related administrative tasks, and assist in the Injection Clinic.
Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect services to patients.
- Administer medication to patients through pharmacy refills, samples, PAP, or other means.
- Use the electronic prescribing system to process medication orders.
- Respond to patient inquiries and medication refill requests by telephone and through written communication.
- Document verbal orders from medical providers and all patient interactions in the medical record.
- Assist medical providers in patient care or coordination.
- Assist with patient care in the Injection Clinic by reviewing orders, preparing medications, administering injections, documenting administration, and completing billing.
- Monitor medication compliance and side‑effect signs, reporting concerns to the appropriate team members.
- Coordinate patient care with pharmacies, outside agencies (group homes, substance‑use treatment centers, nursing homes, medical offices, hospitals, etc.) and other care partners.
- Communicate with family members, medical providers, case managers, therapists, or other care partners, including the Community Crisis Center.
- One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Kansas.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance.
- Compliance with Sedgwick County policy, CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards, KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens.
- Completion of Sedgwick County and COMCARE orientations.
- One year of work experience in the mental health or substance‑use treatment fields.
