Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Pre-Operative Care is sought for a facility located in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves providing specialized pre-operative nursing care within a busy surgical unit. • Required Qualifications:
  
  Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), minimum 1 year current acute care Pre-Operative Nursing experience, valid license to practice in Kansas, and at least 1 year of experience in a hospital setting at the time of application.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Some preoperative experience or ability to assist preoperative staff, prior Meditech electronic health record experience.
• Type of Staff:
  Full Time RN staff (8 positions, with 2 vacancies), part-time, and PRN RN staff.
• Unit Details:
• 9 preoperative beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds
• Staff includes 8 full-time RNs, 2 part-time RNs, 4 PRN RNs, and 1 unit health unit coordinator
• Patient Ratios: 1:3
• Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, bladder scanner
• Procedures performed include Phase 2 recoveries for Urology and GYN patients, outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, blood transfusions, and various outpatient procedures.
• Additional Information:
• The unit maintains high standards for patient experience, with a focus on communication and team collaboration.
• On-call requirements include two 10-hour weekend shifts every 8-9 weekends with a 30-minute response time.
• The environment features new equipment and experienced staff, making it an attractive assignment for dedicated Pre-Operative RNs.
