Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care on a dynamic oncology and general surgery unit. Deliver quality patient care within a collaborative team environment, ensuring adherence to unit protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans based on clinical guidelines.
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy, following strict safety and handling procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs regularly, perform assessments every 8 hours, and respond promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient care accurately and timely using Meditech EMR system.
• Support team efforts by participating in unit policies, quality improvement activities, and maintaining a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent acute care hospital experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in med/surg care, with chemo certification highly preferred.
• Possess BLS certification; ACLS and additional oncology training are advantageous.
• Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude.
• Able to work 12-hour day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, following unit protocols.
• Capable of handling chemotherapy and remote tele patient care with appropriate certifications.
