Overview
The Quality Specialist supports daily quality operations within the manufacturing environment by inspecting products, maintaining quality documentation, assisting with audits, and helping investigate quality issues. This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and critical to preventing defects, supporting customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with internal and external requirements.
Responsibilities Product & Process Quality- Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured products
- Verify products meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Identify nonconforming material and initiate corrective actions
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and nonconformance logs
- Support document control for procedures, work instructions, and forms
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Assembly to address quality issues in real time
- Help implement process improvements to reduce defects and rework
- Support first article inspections and new product introductions
- Perform incoming inspections on purchased materials and components
- Document supplier quality issues and assist Purchasing with follow-up
- Track supplier performance and nonconformance trends
- Assist in investigating customer complaints and returns
- Help prepare corrective action responses and supporting documentation
- Support customer and third-party audits as needed
- 2–5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Electrical, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing experience
- Root cause analysis experience (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Experience with ERP or quality tracking systems
- Hands-on, shop-floor focused
- Strong communication with production teams
- Organized and detail-driven
- Comfortable documenting and following procedures
- Team-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
This role can grow into a Quality Lead or Quality Manager position as the company and quality system mature.
