Inspector Lead (5th Shift)
As a Service Center Inspector – Lead, you will lead and mentor a skilled team while ensuring inspection methods and procedures meet FAA regulations and manufacturer requirements, playing a critical role in aircraft safety, quality, and compliance.
Responsibilities- Aircraft & Component Inspections: Conduct in‑process, incoming, hidden damage, and final inspections to ensure all maintenance, repairs, and alterations meet airworthiness standards.
- Airworthiness Certification & Return to Service: Certify aircraft and components for return to service by inspecting hardware, verifying documentation, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Textron Aviation quality standards.
- Technical Documentation Interpretation: Interpret and apply maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, structural repair manuals, and approved technical publications to support accurate inspections and compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance & Records Oversight: Verify inspection records, reports, and FAA documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, and adherence to regulatory and quality requirements.
- FAA & Customer Requirements Support: Apply RII, Part 135 customer requirements, MELs, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and conformity standards to all inspection and buy‑off activities.
- Inspection Leadership & Audit Support: Guide and coordinate inspection activities, support FAA or ODA audits, assist with conformity and certification processes, and collaborate with Quality leadership on document control and compliance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; A&P License;
Knowledge of blueprints, specifications, arithmetic, and broad knowledge of aircraft instruments and equipment. - Experience: Minimum 5 years of aircraft instrument and equipment inspection, repair and functional test experience or directly related instrument and equipment work.
- Familiar with Non‑Destructive Testing procedures and applicability.
- SAP Experience.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and direct inspection related activities of aircraft maintenance.
- Previous experience within the corporate jet sector.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
