The Quality Intern will support the Quality team in maintaining and improving quality processes within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This internship provides hands‑on experience with quality systems, manufacturing processes, inspections, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives while working alongside experienced quality professionals and manufacturing teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the Quality team with daily activities supporting aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Review manufacturing documentation, inspection records, and quality data for accuracy and completeness.
- Support inspection activities including first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final product verification.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to quality performance metrics.
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and process optimization.
- Assist with maintaining quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records.
- Help identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and reduce defects or non-conformances.
- Learn and apply aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other departments to support quality objectives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in aerospace manufacturing and quality systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation, drawings, and specifications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exposure to manufacturing environments, inspection methods, or quality tools.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis.
- Experience with measurement tools or inspection equipment.
This position operates in a manufacturing environment and may require time spent on the production floor observing processes, working with manufacturing teams, and supporting quality activities. The intern must follow all safety requirements and company policies.
