HiFyve is hiring a Senior Chemist in the Manufacturing industry in Wichita, KS!

Salary: $105K–$125K + 5% STIP Bonus

About the Role

This role leads formulation and testing of industrial lubricants, ensuring product performance, quality, and compliance while supporting R&D and cross-functional teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and advanced testing on products and raw materials
  • Design and implement SOPs for lab processes and manufacturing support
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Coordinate equipment installations and major repairs with vendors
  • Analyze, validate, and report data in compliance with industry standards
  • Investigate deviations and ensure quality control procedures are followed
  • Provide technical leadership and training to junior staff and technicians
  • Develop and support laboratory training programs and safety practices
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation of experiments and results
  • Build and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Participate in industry organizations (ASTM, NLGI, STLE)
  • Support integration efforts and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry required (Master’s preferred)
  • 10+ years of laboratory experience (15+ years in lubricants preferred)
  • Strong expertise in formulations, testing, and industry standards
  • Experience with advanced analytical instrumentation and troubleshooting
  • Ability to mentor, train, and lead less experienced team members
  • Strong understanding of scientific methods and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with vendors and coordinating equipment installs/repairs
  • Public speaking or industry involvement is a plus
