About the Job
The Microbiology Technician reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor and plays a key role in the routine testing of finished compounded pharmaceutical products. This position ensures that all testing is conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidance of documents related to quality control and microbiological safety.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and prepare samples for microbiological analysis in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform media inspections and growth promotion testing.
- Conduct bacterial endotoxin, particulate matter, sterility, and filter integrity testing, including method suitability studies.
- Track and manage test samples to ensure accurate documentation and timely processing.
- Support laboratory organization and cleanliness, including proper lab waste disposal and storage management.
- Comply with all procedural and regulatory guidelines related to controlled substances.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and ensure the integrity of testing, manufacturing, certification, and product release processes.
- Follow all company safety procedures and assist in training new employees on laboratory safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment at all times.
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Prior experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or microbiology laboratory setting preferred, especially in environments regulated by cGMP standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to focus on detailed tasks for extended periods and strictly adhere to established safety and quality protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
