We are looking for a Retail Sales Associate to play a key role in furthering our vision and mission in our retail area.
Purpose of PositionProvides assistance in the day-to-day duties of cashier or clerk for a Goodwill store. To fulfill Goodwill’s mission statement.

- Sorts clothing and textiles items
- Hangs clothing and puts out wares or other saleable items
- Visually inspects clothing and performs stock rotation
- Cleans store which includes wares shelves, floor, restrooms, etc.
- Responds to customer requests in person or on the phone

- Operates cash registers, makes change and bags merchandise
- Help keep the store clean and attractive

- Ring sales on the cash register, make correct change, and bag merchandise
- Change hanging merchandise as needed
- Pull merchandise as instructed
- Perform administrative and record keeping duties as required in store manager’s and/or assistant manager’s absence, including but not limited to preparing store report, making daily deposit, maintaining employee purchase forms
- Sort clothing and textiles items; remove and inspect items; discard unsaleable ones and place into salvage area
- Hang clothing items appropriately and inspect them for quality and suitability
- Inspect racks and ensure proper stocking levels; remove unsaleable items
- Push rolling racks and manage moving merchandise across the floor and to storage areas
- Clean wares shelves and remove unsaleable items; dispose of waste properly
- Handle merchandise and packaging as per policy; maintain organization in storage areas
- Answer telephone and customer queries regarding store operations and merchandise availability
- Assist individuals in making donations of various items; receive and process donations from donors and their vehicles
- Maintain helpful and courteous relations with all persons who come into the store and co-workers
- Be familiar with the merchandise and its location
- Maintain store goals as instructed by the store manager
- Observe company rules and regulations regarding cash handling, check cashing, employee purchases, safety and security precautions
- Possess skills to sort, pair, and inspect shoes; discard unrepairable or outdated shoes; box shoes for store delivery; stand or sit for extended periods; carry loads up to 25 pounds; count and keep simple records
- Follow all safety policies and fire prevention procedures
- Attend required meetings
- Adhere to all safety policies and report violations
- Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records
- Responsible for safety and well‑being of all employees
- Support mission statement and activities of other departments
