The Floor Supervisor will assist with managing overall store operations and assume primary responsibility for store operations in the absence of the General Manager and/or Assistant Managers. The role involves directing staff to achieve company goals and objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Customer Service
- Project a positive representation of Ace Retail Group.
- Proactively assist customers in solving problems.
- Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
- Thank customers when they are finished and leaving the store.
- Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor towards customers and associates.
- Answer all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues with the best interest of Ace Retail Group in mind.
- Possess excellent product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and product locations.
- Store Operations
- Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment for all associates.
- Supervise the general operations of the entire store.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures.
- Implement Store Support Center programs.
- Help ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits.
- Assist the General Manager and Assistant Manager on all aspects of running the store.
- Communicate operational or managerial issues to the General Manager promptly.
- Maintain daily cleanliness of the sales floor, stockroom, and outdoor merchandise areas.
- Ensure weekly price changes and label updates are completed timely and accurately.
- Assist with cashiering functions including training, maintenance, audits, and reports.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Inventory & Merchandising
- Ensure forklift operations and receiving are completed safely and efficiently.
- Check, stock, and maintain merchandise in the store.
- Assist with back stock level maintenance.
- Ensure cycle counts and negative on‑hand reports are completed timely and accurately.
- Assist with merchandise resets throughout the store.
- Ensure all signage is current.
- Present a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and promotional/incremental merchandising.
- Leadership
- Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Lead by example; remain approachable to associates and customers.
- Assist in training all associates.
- Participate in store meetings.
- Communicate merchandising, cost‑control, or sales ideas to the General Manager for follow‑up.
- Partner with the General Manager and Assistant Manager to prepare for advancement.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manufacturing assembly directions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, percentage, and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Capacity to work independently and flexibly, including working flexible hours.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others both internally and externally.
- Physical requirements:
standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, occasional lifting up to 100 lbs with assistance, and climbing.
Starting at $16/HR.
