The Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise and for delivering friendly, efficient customer service.

• Project a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware.
• Greet customers and thank them by name when possible.
• Maintain a friendly, outgoing demeanor and work well with customers and associates.
• Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
• Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively.
• Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
• Build product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product location.
• Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise.
• Follow all cash register transaction procedures and balance the register drawer.
• Adhere to Store Support Center programs or promotions at the cash registers.
• Participate in store and cashier meetings.
• Maintain front‑end appearance: keep checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean, dust and face front end, stock impulse counters, rotate fresh merchandise, stock ads in carts, and keep forms and supplies stocked.
• Assist with front‑end decoration per Store Support Center program, call for cart pickups, inform management when merchandise returns need to be put away.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Cashier experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and climbing.

Starting at $12.00 per hour.
