Reports to New Spring Store/Cashier Supervisor
Grade I ($12.40-$17.90 Based on experience and qualification)

Assist with sales and customer service for the New Spring Coffee Company and New Spring Store during weekend services and special events. Also assists with general cleaning and restocking in the New Spring Coffee Company and the New Spring Store. Assists in the inventory and display refresh of the New Spring Store.

The incumbent must perform all job duties as outlined in this job description to support ongoing mission of the church while committed in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition).

• Process cash and card payments, refunds, and exchanges. Ensure pricing is accurate. Tips generated in the ministry environment go to the environment and not the employee. (app. 45%)
• Welcome customers who enter the coffee shop or store. Engage customers with answering queries or finding products. (app. 35%)
• Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels and presentation of store and merchandise during services and events, includes tagging, stocking, and organization of inventory in store and storage areas. Assist in the regular display and inventory refresh of the New Spring Store. (app. 5%)
• Actively maintain the cleanliness of the store or coffee shop before, during, and after the services and special events, including general tidying up, cleaning, and organizing. Ensure that the coffee shop and store will be customer-ready at the end of each shift. (app. 10%)
• Assist with store merchandise security during the weekend services. (app. 5%)

Employee may be required to perform other duties.

• A minimum of a high school diploma/GED is required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience volunteering or working in ministry preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in retail sales preferred.

• Positive temperament, dependability, and professionalism with effective interpersonal skills.
• Basic written, verbal, and math skills.
• Computer or mobile device competency with aptitude to learn new software programs.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Coordination, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Knowledge of cash management practices.

• Remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.

• This position works primarily indoors. Occasional outdoor work may be required.
