National Sales Manager
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Harper Trucks is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and customer-focused National Sales Manager to support the continued growth of our commercial business. This individual will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, expanding national retail and distribution partnerships, and supporting the overall sales strategy for one of America's leading manufacturers of material handling equipment.
Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple customers, projects, and priorities simultaneously. In addition to business development and account management responsibilities, the National Sales Manager will support key commercial administrative functions, including customer onboarding, quotations, sales reporting, and coordination across departments to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
The National Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager and Vice President of Sales while collaborating with customers, distributors, retailers, e-commerce partners, and internal departments to drive profitable growth and deliver exceptional customer service.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategies to grow sales across national accounts, distributors, and key commercial customers.
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities throughout North America.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Develop strategic account plans to increase revenue and market share.
- Represent Harper Trucks at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- Manage relationships with key national accounts and distribution partners.
- Coordinate customer onboarding for new accounts.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
- Resolve customer issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Prepare quotations, pricing proposals, presentations, and customer reports.
- Maintain customer records, pricing, and commercial documentation.
- Support forecasting, sales reporting, and commercial analysis.
- Coordinate commercial activities across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, and Production.
- Support the administrative functions of the sales department to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional customer experience.
- Assist with special projects and other commercial initiatives as needed.
- Support the company's e-commerce initiatives and relationships with online retail partners.
- Assist with product launches, promotional campaigns, and digital merchandising efforts.
- Coordinate marketing materials, product literature, and trade show activities.
- Work with internal teams and external partners to improve online product visibility and customer engagement.
Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple customer accounts, projects, and competing priorities.
- Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel as needed for customer visits, trade shows, and business development opportunities.
- Experience working with national retail accounts, distributors, or other large commercial customers.
- Experience with ERP and CRM systems.
- Experience supporting e-commerce platforms such as Amazon Vendor Central, Walmart Marketplace, or other online retail channels.
- Experience analyzing sales performance, customer trends, and market opportunities.
