Associate Sales Representative, Sports Medicine (Kansas City, MO /Tapeka, KS)
As an Associate Sales Representative (ASR), you will be a product consultant in the Sports Medicine portfolio specializing in soft tissue injury repair and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints.
Responsibilities- Work as part of the Sports Medicine Sales Team within an assigned territory and hospital accounts.
- Assist in clinical case coverage in the operating room, secure inventory for those cases, observe, and consult the surgical team on Smith+Neu instrumentation and implants.
- Complete logistical requirements associated with surgical cases.
- Collaborate with Sales Reps, orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians.
- Assimilate and learn a high level of technical information related to surgery and procedures.
- Develop a territory business plan to generate revenue and meet or exceed quota.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years sales experience in the medical device industry.
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products.
- Proven track record selling/converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives.
- Self‑motivated salespeople committed to driving the business forward by taking strategic responsibility for your area.
- Results‑driven champions passionate about forming relationships to increase sales revenue and impact patient outcomes.
- Resourceful consultants working relentlessly to become proficient in Sports Medicine surgical procedures.
- Collaborative and dedicated teammates committed to partnering with all Smith+Neu Reconstruction and Sports Medicine counterparts in the region.
Within designated sales territory with 2–4 overnight stays per month and infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
Credentialing & ComplianceAll field sales professionals are required to complete the credentialing process and comply with the requirements of the facilities they support, including any established vaccine protocols.
