LCCSSA members who apply and meet the minimum qualifications for the vacancy will be interviewed in the same manner as other first-round applicants.
* Escort students, employees, and visitors to enhance personal safety, especially during after-hours events.
* Provide assistance to visitors and community members, including unlocking buildings and assisting with vehicle issues.
* Represent Campus Safety with professionalism and respect while providing customer service and public engagement.
* Dispatch Campus Safety personnel via radio in response to calls for service.
* Communicate clearly and professionally with students, employees, and visitors, providing accurate directions and information.
* Answer a multi-line phone system and respond to emails in a timely and courteous manner, prioritizing calls based on urgency.
* Deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with campus community members and visitors.
* Handle inquiries about parking, Campus Safety policies, and department services with professionalism.
* Manage difficult situations calmly and respectfully, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
* Create and issue for employees and students using campus software.
* Perform database checks and maintain accurate and timely records in Campus Safety systems.
* Use various computer software systems to support department operations.
* Troubleshoot and report basic system issues to maintain operational continuity.
* Regularly monitor campus systems, alarms, and communication channels to ensure timely officer response.
* Assist with office and dispatch area organization and cleanliness to maintain readiness and efficiency.
* Perform related administrative and operational duties to support departmental success.
* Knowledge of campus safety protocols, security procedures, and relevant federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Clery Act, FERPA, Title IX).
* Proficiency in law enforcement and security practices, including emergency response, incident reporting, and crowd management.
* Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written correspondence across multiple channels.
* Proficient in using computer systems, radio communications, incident management software, mobile apps and records management systems.
* Excellent judgment and decision-making skills under pressure, with a commitment to professional integrity and confidentiality.
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and diplomacy in stressful or sensitive situations.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organization when handling documentation, dispatch logs, or security records.
* Strong interpersonal skills to foster trust, inclusion, and cooperation within a diverse campus community.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative and service-oriented team environment.
* Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
* Ability to type 40-50 words per minute (WPM).

* High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
* Two years of experience in campus safety, private security, law enforcement, or a related field with experience in dispatching (2-years of full-time front desk work experience, or equivalent, may substitute for the dispatching experience requirement).
* DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) certification for unarmed private security.
