As a Night Shift Security Specialist (6:00pm-6:00am), you will help protect Koch entities and assets by monitoring alarms, managing access control, and analyzing video surveillance from a 24/7 command center. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safety and security across Wichita-based operations and sites throughout the United States.
Each Security Specialist is provided with the training and tools to succeed. Your success will depend on your ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, prioritize effectively, and deliver a high level of customer service.
Shift schedule: 3 days on / 2 days off, followed by 2 days on / 3 days off
What You Will Do- Think like an entrepreneur, focusing on delivering the greatest value to customers
- Continuously seek knowledge and identify opportunities to improve processes
- Communicate effectively with teammates, leaders, and customers
- Monitor and manage access control, alarm, and video systems from a central control console, often simultaneously
- Assess and respond to routine and emergency situations across remotely monitored locations
- Coordinate response efforts, including dispatching security, police, or fire services when needed
- Interpret video observations and alarm data to determine appropriate actions
- Perform basic troubleshooting of automated security systems
- Maintain accurate documentation, including call logs, incident reports, and operating procedures
- Review and maintain electronic documents using Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in a customer-facing, security, call center, or similar environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift (6:00pm-6:00am) on a rotating schedule, including weekends, holidays, overtime and accommodate schedule changes as needed
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain First Aid/AED/CPR certification
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods
- Private security experience
- Experience with access control or video management systems
- Experience with central station alarm monitoring
- Current private investigator license
- Current EMT certification
