Overall Responsibilities
Patrols hotel property on foot and, if need be, using company vehicle. Quickly responding to guest requests and emergency situations, the officer expediently defuses all situations, alerting hotel management and law enforcement authorities as necessary. To comply with Marriott best practices and local, state and federal regulations, the officer documents and maintains all incident records. Additionally, he enforces all policies and procedures implemented by the hotel and government.
Qualifications/ Prerequisites
- At least 18 years of age
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
- Able to be on feet for long periods of time
- Willing to work long hours when needed
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
- Valid current driver's license
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Ensure all assigned rooms and public areas are cleaned properly
- Guest-focused personality
- Ability to meet the standards of appearance

- Consistently monitor dead areas of parking lot.
- Ensure all paperwork and reports are completed and turned in
- Always be professional and ethical in dealing with guests and associates
- Work closely with all other departments
- Maintain department goals
- Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with guests and associates
- Patrol all areas of the property and make routine checks to ensure safety and limit theft/break-ins
- Assist guests with room access
- Be aware of any and all activity on the security monitors
- Conduct daily physical hazard inspections
- Respond to accidents or incidents with complete professionalism and tact
- Assist guests and associates in an emergency situation
- Defuse guest/associate disturbances
- Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention related incidents
- Handle all interruptions and complaints
- Resolve safety hazard situations
- Escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operation
- Report to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts
- Call for assistance using proper code responses
- Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report
- Maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents
- Transport associates/guests to medical center if needed
- Handle Lost and Found procedures
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to bend stop and lift for extended periods of time
- Able to use various tools as required for each job
- Computer
- Marriott company vehicles including the Shuttle
- High School diploma or equivalent with emphasis in technical trades
- Ability to read operating instructions on equipment used in department
- Ability to speak in language understood by guests and co-workers
- Some computer knowledge is helpful
- First Aid/CPR training helpful
