Maintenance Technician – Residential Properties (Sheetrock & Painting Focus)

Professional Home Buyers has served Wichita for over 20 years, and we’re continuing to grow. We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician with strong sheetrock and painting experience to help maintain rental homes, complete make-ready projects, and assist with flip home renovations. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and contributing to high‑quality home improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and finish sheetrock/drywall
    , including taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a professional finish
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs in rental properties and homes under renovation
  • Complete make-ready tasks and prepare units for new tenants
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues
  • Install appliances, light fixtures, faucets, locks, and other home components
  • Assist with framing, baseboards, cabinets, siding, and other finish work
  • Inspect homes, identify issues, and report findings to the property manager
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, coworkers, and property managers
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of strong sheetrock/drywall repair and painting skills
  • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance
  • Must own basic tools
  • Able to lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces when needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Compensation

$17 – $22 hour DOE & skills
