We’re small-town techies and Kansans at heart, committed to helping our communities thrive through fast, reliable internet. We didn’t start broadband to build a business—we built a business to bring broadband to Kansans. When you call us, you’ll reach a real, local person who cares.

We offer an inspiring environment with meaningful work, where employees are encouraged to think creatively and deliver exceptional service. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Business Fiber Technician to join our team.

Each day, you will lead the installation and integration of fiber optic systems, ranging from standard commercial setups to large-scale infrastructure projects in complex corporate environments.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise and professional communication, as you’ll be the primary point of contact for business owners and IT directors during the hand-off. You must be comfortable working in a variety of physical settings, from active construction sites to polished server rooms, while maintaining a sharp attention to detail and a commitment to delivering a reliable experience for our customers.

Location:

The individual in this role will support business services in Wichita Kansas and surrounding communities.

What You’ll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute and manage fiber optic installations and repairs for commercial/business clients (FTTP), ensuring minimal service interruption.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues for business customers, minimizing operational disruption through efficient on-site service.
  • Install, configure, and repair Voice over IP (VoIP) services tailored specifically for business clients.
  • Independently lead complex installations and advanced repairs across diverse business environments and infrastructure types.
  • Provide an exceptional on-site experience, serving as the expert resource on FTTP service, commercial gateways, and business WiFi solutions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in managing and maintaining aerial and underground fiber networks that service commercial areas.
  • Install and maintain fiber drops connecting the service terminal directly to business premises.
What We’re Looking For

To be considered for this role, you’ll need the following required qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience in fiber or network installation, splicing, low-voltage electrical/cabling, or a similar installation role.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
What Will Help You Stand Out
  • Previous experience working in the telecommunications industry and/or working in a business or commercial installation role.
