Maintenance Services
Provide professional, comprehensive maintenance services for all CUA branch locations and the corporate offices including: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, general maintenance heating, and air conditioning.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Perform minor electrical maintenance to include, but not be limited to, repair or replacement of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance to include, but not be limited to, repair or replacement of drains and faucets.
- Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (preparing surfaces, using brush, sprayer, roller to apply paint, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks, handles, etc.)
- Ensure building exteriors are well maintained including landscaping beds, clearing debris and snow removal.
- Ensure building interiors are well maintained and respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Assist with security by routinely changing safe combinations, locks, and batteries in devices as needed, and/or requested.
- Assist with departmental and employee moves, set up tables and chairs for trainings or meetings, transport goods and equipment as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Employees shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job.
Knowledge and
Skills:
Experience
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education - (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills
- Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills
- Experience with carpentry, heating & air conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, drywall & painting and security systems.
Physical Requirements
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, crawl;
talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Primarily a position working indoors; may be exposed to indoor temperature adjustments; heating and cooling vents distribute regulated air. Frequently will work outdoors or in non-climate controlled areas.
